NIR

NIR® · Near-Infrared Reflectance

Camouflage that still works under night vision

Night-vision devices don’t see colour. They amplify light just beyond human vision. Untreated nylon shows up pale and flat — whatever pattern is printed on it. NIR® drops the fabric’s reflectance to match the terrain, so MultiCam® keeps working after dark.

  • Milliken® fabrics

Reflectance, not heat. NIR® cuts the light your gear reflects to image intensifiers. Thermal is a different problem.

Why it works

The pattern is only half the fight

What night vision actually sees

Image intensifiers collect and amplify reflected light in the 600–900 nm band (U.S. Army Natick). Foliage reads bright, sand and rock read dark. Untreated synthetics read brighter than anything in nature. Colour is irrelevant.

Treated in the fabric and the print

Near-infrared behaviour lives in the cloth and the dyes, not the pattern. NIR® tunes that reflectance to natural terrain so MultiCam® looks the same through optics as it does to the naked eye.

One signature across the kit

Cap, boonie, shirt, shells, pants — same print, same treatment. The whole set reads as one surface under night vision, not a bright head and a dark torso.

Genuine MultiCam® on Milliken® cloth

Base fabrics from Milliken®, the American mill that supplies the U.S. military. Licensed Crye Precision® MultiCam® throughout.

Build the set

Seven pieces. One signature.

Every NIR® piece carries the same MultiCam® print on the same treated fabrics. Cap to combat pants, the kit matches under optics and in daylight.

The UBACS pairs NIR®-treated MultiCam® sleeves with a flame-resistant Polartec® Power Dry® torso — built to sit under a plate carrier, where the sleeves are what shows.
