Grid Fleece Warmth. Gen III ECWCS Level 2. Bi-component fabric.

These are the bottoms that complete the Level 2 system. Polartec® Power Grid® is a bi-component fabric: a smooth face that slides under trousers or a shell without dragging, backed by a gridded fleece inner that holds warm air in its channels while the raised contact points lift sweat off the skin. At 231 g/m² and only 215 g on the scale, you get Level 2 heat retention with almost no bulk and no added weight at the waist or knee.

Level 2 exists for men who generate their own heat. The open grid channels vent moisture vapour as fast as high output produces it, so you stay warm on a static hold and do not overheat on the climb out. The cut is anatomical — shaped to the leg so the fabric follows the knee through a full stride rather than binding — and flat seams run throughout, which is what makes these wearable for days under uniform trousers or a hardshell. Odor Resistant® antibacterial technology keeps them serviceable long past the point where an untreated fleece would need washing.

Polartec® Power Grid® Construction: Bi-component grid fleece that retains heat without bulk. The grid contact points increase sweat absorption and speed moisture transport away from the skin.
Engineered for High Output: The gridded inner face vents vapour continuously, making this the ideal cold-weather base layer for intense activity.
215 g at 231 g/m²: Real insulation at a weight you will not notice under trousers or in a pack — the layer you carry because it costs you nothing to carry it.
Odor Resistant®: Antibacterial treatment prevents odour build-up, extending wear time between washes on multi-day patrols and expeditions.
Anatomical Cut: Shaped to the leg for unrestricted movement through the knee and hip, with no fabric bunching behind the knee when worn under an outer trouser.
Flat Seams and 7% Spandex: Flat seam construction eliminates pressure points against the skin, and the spandex content keeps the fabric moving with you and returning to shape.

Care

Machine wash on a delicate cycle at a maximum of 30°C, with low-speed spin.
Do not tumble dry, and do not dry on a radiator or near a fire.
Do not use chlorine bleach, solvents or stain removers.
Do not use household fabric softeners or conditioners, unless made specifically for technical clothing.
Do not iron.
Do not dry clean.
Before drying, check that no detergent marks remain. If they do, rinse again.
Air dry with good air circulation.
Pre-soak heavily soiled areas in the same detergent.
