The base-weight short-sleeve T-shirt in Polartec® Power Dry® FR — the lighter of the two Power Dry® FR tees in the range, and the one to reach for in heat or under heavy equipment.
Flame resistance is inherent to the fibre itself, not a surface treatment that can wash out or wear away. The material does not support combustion.
Where the Heavyweight version uses a denser 254 g/m² knit for cold-season duty and abrasion resistance, this Base version is cut from a lighter knit that sits close and cool against the skin. Polartec® Power Dry® construction actively lifts moisture off the body and spreads it across the outer face so it evaporates quickly, keeping you drier through long shifts.
Performance Features
- Inherent flame resistance: Built into the modacrylic fibre blend, not applied as a finish. Will not wash out or wear away. Does not support combustion.
- Base weight, not heavyweight: The lighter of the two Power Dry® FR options. Choose this for hot conditions, high output and wear under a plate carrier; choose the 254 g/m² Heavyweight for cold weather and higher abrasion.
- Polartec® Power Dry® moisture management: The two-component knit pulls moisture off the skin and spreads it over the outer surface for faster evaporation.
- Loose cut, short sleeves: Unrestrictive fit that works as a standalone shirt or as the first layer of a system without riding up or binding.
- 3% spandex: Enough stretch for free movement through the shoulders and torso, and for the shirt to hold its shape wash after wash.
Versatility & Layering
This T-shirt is built as the first layer against the skin:
- Standalone Layer: Made for summer heat and high-output work — the loose cut and short sleeves keep it comfortable on its own.
- Under a Plate Carrier: The thin knit adds no bulk at the shoulders and won't bind under load.
- Under a Combat Shirt or Shell: Won't ride up beneath outer layers. Thin enough to layer under a combat shirt, plate carrier or shell without adding bulk at the shoulders or binding under load.
