Flame Resistant

Polartec® Power Dry® FR

Flame resistance built into the fibre, not sprayed on

The protection is in the yarn. Every piece here is knitted from Polartec® Power Dry® FR, a modacrylic-based blend that does not support combustion — and because the flame resistance is in the fibre itself, it cannot wash out or wear off.

  • Inherently FR
  • Does not melt or drip
  • NFPA 70E
  • ISO-EN 11612

Polartec lists the fabric as meeting NFPA 70E and ISO-EN 11612.

Why it works

A base layer that keeps performing when ordinary synthetics become a liability

Inherently flame-resistant

The fabric does not support combustion. Polartec engineers it not to melt, drip or ignite when it meets extreme heat — the failure mode of a standard polyester base layer around fuel, vehicles, ordnance or open flame.

Power Dry® moisture transport

A bi-component knit: the inner face pulls sweat off the skin, the outer face spreads it wide so it evaporates fast. Dry under a plate carrier at hour twelve, not clammy.

Flat seams, anatomical cut

Seams lie flush against the skin so nothing digs in under a helmet strap, headset, belt or harness. 3–5% spandex lets each piece follow the body and return to shape wash after wash.

Stays fresh across days

Odor Resistant® antibacterial treatment keeps the garment wearable through consecutive days without resupply — the balaclava and the UBACS torso are built for exactly that.

Build the set

Everything that touches the skin, flame-resistant

Flame protection is only as complete as the layer next to the skin. The range covers all of it — head, torso and underwear — in the same Polartec® Power Dry® FR fabric, so there is no gap between pieces.

Choose the Lightweight tee for heat, high output and wear under armour; the Heavyweight 254 g/m² tee for cold-season duty and abrasion under a pack.
