A vest solves a specific problem: your torso needs insulation, your arms need to work. The ALFA Light Vest puts PrimaLoft® Gold at 80 g/m² over the core and nothing at all over the shoulders and arms, so you keep the full range of a bare sleeve while the heat your body produces stays where it matters.

PrimaLoft® Gold is the microfibre synthetic developed for the US Army as a goose-down substitute — it keeps insulating when wet, stays breathable under exertion, and compresses hard without losing loft.

This makes it the most flexible piece in a layering system. Worn over a fleece it adds targeted core warmth without a second set of sleeves fighting the first. Worn under a hardshell it virtually disappears — there is no arm bulk to bind at the elbow when you reach, climb, or shoulder a load.

The outer shell is Milliken® TactX™ 100% nylon ripstop in genuine MultiCam®, finished with a durable water-repellent (DWR) treatment that sheds light rain and snow.

NIR® technology reduces the fabric’s near-infrared signature under night-vision devices. A full windproof placket backs the main zipper. The high collar is lined with soft Polartec® Classic Micro to protect the neck and prevent chafe. Elastic drawcords at the hem allow a precise fit and block cold air from rising under the vest.

When the temperature rises, the entire vest packs into its own internal pocket and disappears into a pouch-sized package. Five pockets handle real-world needs: two zippered side pockets and one zippered chest pocket (all lined with Polartec® Classic Micro for warmth), plus two internal zippered pockets for documents, a phone, or small essentials. Reliable YKK hardware throughout.

True layering freedom: Clean over a fleece, invisible under a shell; no sleeve bulk to fight.
PrimaLoft® Gold When Wet: Unlike down, the fill keeps insulating soaked through, and returns to full loft after being crushed in a pack.
Milliken® TactX™ Shell with NIR®: Tightly woven 100% nylon with a DWR finish and a windproof placket behind the main zip; NIR® treatment reduces the fabric's near-infrared reflectance under night-vision optics.
Packs Into Itself: Folds into its own internal pocket, so the layer you are not wearing costs you a pouch rather than a jacket's worth of pack space.
Five-Pocket Layout: Two zipped side pockets, one zipped chest pocket and two internal pockets, with a Polartec® Classic Micro collar lining to prevent chafe on long wear.
